Inside the Crime Syndicate Carbanak

If you haven’t heard of the hacking group Carbanak, you probably have heard about their handy work. The Eastern European crime syndicate specializes in Oceans 11-style heists against hotels and casinos. According to Mike Zeberlein, Director of Threat Intelligence at Area 1 Security, Carbanak succeeds because they’re innovative and agile.

But the one tactic that doesn’t change is spear phishing.

Carbanak has recently shifted to another set of targets: casual restaurants and fast food outlets in America. Area 1 Security has tracked over 20 such attacks in the last year, including the much-publicized POS attacks against Chipotle.

Learn how Carbanak operates with Mike Zeberlein, a cyber expert with over 20 years of experience supporting intelligence communities and dissecting attacks. Watch the webinar.
