Our mission is making INBOX.CLEAN™ a reality: stop phishing attacks — the root cause of 95% of breaches — before they reach users. Get the only solution that preemptively stops Business Email Compromise, malware, ransomware and other advanced threats by discovering and eliminating them before they cause damage.
A cybersecurity analyst or engineer wakes up every morning, flips on their laptop, and defends others from attacks, responding at the speed of lightning to beat cyber villains, and with unmatched adaptability and agility stops cyber villains from getting into your inboxes and organizations – all while calling it just a normal day at the office.
Area 1’s cloud-native SaaS solution supports three key use cases: preemptive anti-phishing across all threat vectors (email, web, social, network); cloud email security / SEG replacement; and phishing security automation for SOC teams.
Area 1 is a Microsoft Certified Partner and a Google Cloud Security Technology Partner of the Year. We also integrate with a number of SIEM, SOAR, SEG and firewall technology providers to fit your unique infrastructure. Learn More

Earlier today, Cloudflare announced a definitive agreementto acquire Area 1 Security with an expected closing date of early Q2 2022. I wanted to take this opportunity to express our excitement about this acquisition and the promise of jointly addressing the primary vector of cybersecurity threats – PHISHING!
Cloudflare’s mission is to help build a better Internet and the company has invested heavily in building the world’s most powerful cloud network to deliver users a faster, safer and more reliable Internet.
Area 1’s mission is to stop Phishing attacks and deliver a Clean Inbox. We describe that mission as Inbox.Clean™. To make good on that promise, Area 1 has invested heavily in the world’s most powerful preemptive cloud-native email security service.
Clearly, Cloudflare and Area 1 together add strength to both missions. Because let’s be real here – a Clean Internet starts with a Clean Inbox! You can’t have one without the other, especially since estimates show that upwards of 90% of all cybersecurity breaches start with an email attack.
So how do our two companies mesh at the solution level? Cloudflare delivers one of the world’s leading Zero Trust networks. By joining forces we are creating an integrated, one-click approach to securing all of an organization’s applications, including email.
Cloudflare entered the email security market in 2021 with the launch of its Advanced Email Security Suite and additional tools to create custom email addresses, manage incoming email routing, and prevent email spoofing and phishing on outgoing emails. By combining Area 1’s uniquely scalable preemptive cloud-native email security technology and years of experience in email protection with Cloudflare’s global network, the two companies will provide a holistic Zero Trust solution that customers can enable through Cloudflare’s global edge in just one click.
Our customers, channel partners, and prospects will all see the clear benefits of working together. With Cloudflare operating in all corners of the world, Area 1 will be able to deploy and support its solutions on a worldwide basis. Cloudflare has innovated in global scalability and Cloudflare will integrate Area 1’s technology into its global network to give customers the most complete Zero Trust security platform available, inclusive of securing the most critical of today’s business applications – your Email.
In short, our customers and partners will lose nothing, and will gain tremendously. All of Area 1 employees will become a part of Cloudflare’s Emerging Technologies and Incubation group.
Today is a big day. Today is a step forward in helping deliver a better Internet by accelerating on our mission to give everyone Inbox.Clean™.
You can learn more about the acquisition here or in Cloudflare’s blog.
The acquisition is expected to close early inthe second quarter of 2022 and is subject to customary closing conditions. Until the transaction closes, Cloudflare and Area 1 Security remain separate and independent companies.
